When Does Idahound Ship?
Due to Idahound's rural location, we have limited dry ice options. Deliveries come to us bi-weekly in a fixed amount. Once we run out of dry ice, we're unable to get more (or ship any new orders) until the next bi-weekly delivery. If you place an order for in-stock items today, the next shipping days are:
| Monday 8/24 & Tuesday 8/25 |
Once your order has been placed, we will email you a receipt with the order number.
Once your order has shipped, we will email you a shipping confirmation with a tracking number.
If you have any questions about your order, email us at [email protected] and include your order number in the subject line.
How Does Idahound Ship?
To ship our frozen products, we use dry ice and insulating HempWool. These hemp liners, which offer industry-leading temperature stability, are carbon-negative and fully compostable (and the plastic wrap can be recycled). Even better, they're manufactured in southern Idaho, keeping another element our supply chain local.
While we don’t place any minimums on dried shipments, all orders containing frozen products must include a minimum of 15 lbs.

What Regions Does Idahound Produce Food For?
Idahound’s online store is set up for dogs living in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico, Montana, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. If you’re outside of these states, but demand a raw “farm-to-bowl” diet please email us directly at [email protected]. We’ll do our best to get you access to Idahound’s menu as soon as possible.
Frozen Food Minimum
If you’re buying our frozen foods, you’re please be aware of the 15 POUND MINIMUM. Although we apologize for the inconvenience, this rule exists for a couple of reasons:
The standard for pet foods has been lowered to an extraordinary degree, at the expense of the natural environment, the livestock raised inhumanely for cheap protein, and most importantly, the dogs and cats who are fed an unhealthy and unnatural diet. Nevertheless, we understand that getting away from cheap dog foods can be costly and we've tried to come up with ways to help you save while also feeding as dog intended:
- Shipping creates a bit of waste. The less cardboard and HempWool per pound of food shipped, the better.
- One and two pounds of frozen food will thaw much more rapidly than 15 or more lbs. We want your dog’s Idahound to arrive fresh!
- Idahound is tiny operation. We don’t have enough employees to fill lots of tiny orders.
- So jump in and get your dog on Idahound! We promise that you won’t be disappointed.
